Obair ar crainn insan Pass

Bhfuair Padraig Ó Tuama a fogra seo

Dear Padraig,

We are contacting you as a valued stakeholder to inform you of forestry operations which will be commencing shortly along a section of the Céim An Fhia Pass along the R-584 at Derreendoneen Forest approximately 5km to the South West of Ballingeary Village, Co. Cork.

Dangerous roadside trees have been identified along this route. On Health and Safety grounds the removal of these trees is necessary to maintain the safety of road users. In consultation with the Forest Service, Inland Fisheries Ireland and Cork County Council, clearing of these dangerous trees will commence on 04th September.  There will be ongoing traffic management and minor traffic disruption during the operation for approximately 3 weeks.

 In summary:-

What – Felling dangerous roadside trees
Where – Derreendoneen Forest, 5 km South West of Ballingeary, Co. Cork
Why – Some of the trees have died due to disease and are a threat to public safety along the R-584.
How – Specialist tree surgeons and associated traffic management crews. Due to the difficult terrain no heavy machinery will be used.

We ask for your co-operation during this  period. If you have any queries in relation to the above works please email info@coillte.ie

I have attached an Advanced Notice of Operations document outlining the details.

Regards

Louise O’Reilly
