Support for Ukranians

Communities across West Cork are coming together to offer support to Ukrainians arriving in Ireland. The arena at Millstreet is already accommodating 70 refugees.

A number of people in Ballingeary have generously made accommodation pledges to the Red Cross and other agencies. They are trying to pull together a database of what muintir Béal Atha can offer and are keen to co-ordinate help from the community.

Additionally, we are aware that some people may be considering pledging accommodation but may need assistance clearing/painting/preparing their spare space.

1) If you have pledged accommodation and would like to be kept in the loop about community support
2) If you have spare space where you would be willing to accommodate refugees but you need some help preparing it
3) If you are willing to offer any kind of practical support: bringing accommodation up to standard or helping to welcome and settle refugees as and when they arrive.
