Summer Camp

A summer camp will be held in Ballingeary for boys and girls going into 6th class, first year and second year from Monday 10th to Friday 14th beginning at 10 am and finishing at 1 pm.

All activities will be as Gaeilge

One of the aims of the camp is to promote and refresh the language before school begins.

Due to Covid-19 all activities will be held outdoors.

Locations will be in the village, Casadh na Spride, Gougane, Locha Lua and some surrounding mountains.

€50 per participant, a reduction if a family has more than one child attending..

Spaces for 18 young people.

Planning Objection

A huge thanks to the 372 people who signed the petition.

The objection was submitted by the committee to the council yesterday .

Thanks also to the many others in the community that submitted objections in their own names.

Ba mhaith le Grúpa Tráth na gCeist na Nollag buíochas a ghabháil le gach éinne a thug cabhair nó tacaíocht dóibh Dífhibrileoir nua a cheannach do mhuintir na háite. Táimíd fíorbhuíoch do Shane O Cathasaigh a chur isteach é agus do Aidan & Mairín Uí Thuama don chumhacht don dífhibrileoir.
The organisers of last year’s Christmas quiz would like to thank everyone who supported this event in any way.As already mentioned the money raised was used to purchase a defibrillator for the village.The defibrillator has now been installed into the box (which was kindly made by  a group of local lads)near the post office.Thanks to Shane Casey for installing it for us.Thanks also to Aidan and Maureen Twomey for supplying the power to it.This was a real community effort and we are very grateful for everyone’s contribution in completing the project.
